Weekend nel Baden-Württemberg ... Germania dal 18 already 20 novembre 2019.
We are flying from Rome Fiumicino with the Swiss Air line, heading to Germany in Baden-Warttemberg, clearly on time as a Swiss clock bound for Zurich for stopover and flight change to Stuttgart. A curiosity of the Zurich airport that just for being famous for watches, the call to the gate is at the chime of a sound "dong... dong" pendulum clock effect.....very funny. Arriving at Stuttgart airport excellent organization for car rental, I recommend booking via booking in advance.
We leave Stuttgart, but we will be back quickly on Sunday, for the return to Rome, and we head to Nuremberg, which is perfect for a city break, in the area of Bavaria, about a 3 hour car trip, most northern city of fascinating history, in fact, note here where the Nazis I find the base and developed some of your biggest business outreach before and after the Second world war, in addition to being the seat of the special court processes to the nazis involved in the second world war and the Shoah, during the famous Nuremberg trials held from 20 November 1945 to 1 October 1946 at the Palace of Justice.
... The old town is a real gem. Walking through the alleys and squares of the old city, you will have the opportunity to discover the aspects of an unforgettable and fascinating metropolis.
The most characteristic route of Nuremberg is Weissgerbergasse. A small and short cobbled street, where even today there are old artisan workshops of the concieters who had once set up a real district in this area of the city. One of the few places not to have suffered major damage during World War II.

In the main square (hauptmarkt square) you will find the “Fontana bella” (Schöner Brunnen) and Church of Our Lady, one of the most important churches of Nuremberg, linked together by history. In fact, were built in the course of the same century, and are among the symbols of the city. The Fountain is Beautiful, was one of the first public fountains of the city had to beautify the path that was the path by the emperors when they went to Nuremberg. The Schöner Brunnen is also the protagonist of a second legend, due to the influx of tourists who flock to touch the ring on the grate that surrounds it. It is said, indeed , that the assistant to a blacksmith to have built this perfect ring, without welding, and has a place where it is today to prove his worth, after which the master refused to grant him the hand of his daughter. It is said that by turning the ring three times to fulfil the desire to find love.
The square is also home to the Christkind tradition every year, the main symbol of the Christmas markets.

You will find countless venues to eat the typical dishes like The Schäefele that is the dish most typical of the Franconian region, and a real pleasure. And the mystery is revealed, the Schäufele is a piece of shoulder of pork, including the bone and the skin that is roasted in the oven. The bone reminds for its shape, a “scoop”. And in fact the name “Schäufele” is the diminutive of the noun “Schaufel” = shovel. A Schäufele usually weighs (including the bone) about 400 grams and is served with a lot of sauce and the traditional “Knödel”, that is, a large dumpling round and cooked in boiling water and made of potato grate. As an additional side dish are usually offered sauerkraut or salad.
A well-cooked Schauble, it must be as tender as the butter inside and crispy outside (the cotica). And the dumpling must be tasted dipped in the sauce, somehow in the sauce there must "drown".

Nuremberg sausages are a Germanic specialty typical of the city of the same name. The name in German is the German name, N'rnberger Rostbratwurst. It seems that the poet Johann Wolfgang Goethe also loved the Bratw-rste, so much so that he mailed them to Weimar.
The recipe is very old: according to historical sources it dates back to 1300. Mainly it is pork flavored following the ancient tradition:
accompanied by excellent sauerkraut, pepper and spicy mustard, they are certainly the first dish you will have to try in Nuremberg
We ate in the old town at the “Alte Kueche” really beautiful and characteristic, are the two local one on the street level and one site in a cave with furniture medieval “ Im keller” is a curiosity here you will eat like in the old middle ages without cutlery, just with your hands, in fact, the damage included a large napkin, and tie to the neck and the dishes are brought to the center of the table where all of it take, very fun and unique, try it in a group definitely. We strongly recommend that you try them, spend little and eat the typical dishes with an excellent draught beer, served by young ladies dressed with the dress classic bavarian “Dirndl”, music and lots of cheerful people....we recommend the contrary, it is compulsory to book.

We have dinner at a local in Baden Baden, very trendy Mexican-Spanish cuisine that we recommend for a special evening "Mount Christo Tapas Bar", with excellent tapas and great wine.
